SSC conducts exams, all over India for various posts in government departments and ministries through SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, and SSC JE, SSC GD Constable, SSC CPO SI/ASI, and other exams. The level of competition in these exams is rigorous and massive. Even a single mistake can hamper your chances of selection in these exams. Most of the candidates fail due to simple mistakes and these mistakes are very silly. In addition to this, it is your strategy, which leads to failure. If you adopt a faulty strategy, then you will get an undesirable result and vice-versa.

Understand the Exam Pattern
There are numerous candidates, who remain doubtful about the exam pattern until the day of examination. The main cause of this problem is the reluctance of reading the full exam notification. There are numerous candidates, who do not consider it necessary to read the notification.
As we know that most of the candidates do not know about the negative marking and allotted time duration for the exams. There are a lot of aspirants, who used to spend a lot of time in solving a particular question, which leads in attempting less number of questions. Avoid extra study materials

Candidates appearing for the SSC exams usually study for more than one competitive exam. They presume that exam patterns & difficulty level of the asked questions in most of the competitive exams are quite similar, which is not true in all cases. Preparing for the multiple exams at once can mess up the importance and priorities of these exams at your side. Such multitasking is the main cause of failure in various aspects of life, including these exams as well. Most of the candidates try to act over-smart and end up being disappointed. Multitasking is a myth.
In reality, you will spend most of your precious time under stress and confusion. Therefore, at first, you must limit your preferences. Remember that some exams are time-specific, while others intend to test your knowledge about the relevant content. Therefore, do not emphasize on numerous competitive exams.
Preparing Offline only
Initially, it is very good to start the preparation offline with pen and paper by referring to some good books. However, it is not sufficient to get success in the SSC exams. Offline preparation can help you to develop accuracy, speed, and confidence.
Beyond this, you must also have the experience of the online exam because appearing in offline exam is completely different from the online exam. We have seen numerous candidates, who are very good at pen and paper mode exam, but not able to make in the online SSC exams. The reason is simple- you cannot win a cycling race if you practice running on foot.

It is advised to take notes smartly. If you are writing down the complete book as notes, then you are not taking notes. Notes must be adaptive to the preparation in the last time of exams. Hence, be cautious at preparing the notes.
Plans for revision
Revision is very essential for building confidence, concentration, and clarifying the doubts as well. If you are failed to revise whatever you have studied, then you may forget a lot and your final performance will be sub-optimal. Ignorance to revision may end up in unplanned moves at the last moment. You can observe that continuous study without revision can hamper your preparation because as you will progress in the study, you can find that you are forgetting the previously visited stuff. It happens usually and breaches your confidence level massively. It is even very hard to revise the whole study materials from the start. Hence, it is advisable to revise the visited topics before heading to the next topics.
At the time of revision, you can follow the rule of 3 times revision for the read stuff. It means whatever you study; you must plan the revision for at least 3 times of the visited topics. Ideally, you can start the revision from the next day or plan it on weekly/monthly basis. For weekly and monthly revisions, you can fix a day when you will only revise. Revision is like sharpening the blade before going to cut the trees.
